PLN Secures 43 Awards and Platinum SDGs Distinction at 2025 CSR Awards

Jakarta – PT PLN (Persero) once again demonstrated its leadership in sustainable corporate responsibility, winning 43 awards and receiving the Platinum SDGs distinction at the Nusantara CSR Awards 2025, held on July 2 in Jakarta by The La Tofi School of Social Responsibility.

The awards were personally presented by Chairman Taufik La Tofi, who praised PLN for embedding CSR into its long-term business strategy.

“CSR is no longer just a program—it’s a shared promise for a better future,” said La Tofi during the award ceremony.

The accolades recognize organizations that make meaningful contributions to sustainable development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. PLN was particularly acknowledged for integrating the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach across its Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) programs.

Strategic CSR Built on Shared Value

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo emphasized that the awards reflect PLN’s broader commitment beyond electricity provision.

“We see ourselves as agents of social transformation. Our CSR strategy is built on CSV principles to deliver long-term value for both communities and the company,” Darmawan noted.

Among PLN’s standout initiatives:
Electrifying Agriculture,
Digital Waste Wallet (Dompet Sampah),
Co-firing waste to energy,
Clean water access, and
Inclusive community empowerment across various provinces.

These programs touch on multiple SDG pillars: environmental conservation, education, renewable energy transition, women’s empowerment, and digital inclusion.

National Scope, Local Impact

PLN earned the Platinum SDGs title for achieving recognition in over 12 award categories, covering nearly every region of Indonesia through its subsidiaries and regional units.

Some of the awarded projects include:

  • SMK teacher upskilling and digital learning ecosystem development
  • Clean water access in Garut, Simalungun, and Tanjung Kukuh
  • Support for women with disabilities in West Kalimantan
  • Community-based eco-tourism and reforestation
  • Traditional textile SMEs and local creative economies
  • Electric vehicle repair workshops and green entrepreneurship training

From urban innovation to rural transformation, PLN’s initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach to CSR, supporting inclusive growth while aligning with Indonesia’s national development priorities.

A Long-Term Commitment to SDGs

Through these efforts, PLN reinforces that CSR is not a side function—it is a core commitment to sustainable value creation.

“This recognition is not the finish line, but a motivator to further expand our impact and quality of community programs,” said Darmawan.

As part of its broader Transformation 2.0 Agenda, PLN aims to be a Top 500 Global Company and the #1 energy solutions provider of choice, by pursuing business growth, digitalization, clean energy transition, and world-class human capital development — all while staying grounded in social responsibility.
