President Prabowo Subianto received the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) on January 27, 2025, in a formal ceremony led by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim at Malaysia’s National Palace. The honor, one of Johor’s highest distinctions, was awarded in recognition of President Prabowo’s significant contribution to fostering strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Established in 1886, the Darjah Kerabat Johor is steeped in royal tradition and granted only to Malay royalty and distinguished foreign leaders. The motto, “Muafakat Itu Berkat” (“Concord is a Blessing”), underscores the shared vision of unity and mutual cooperation.
The regal insignia presented to President Prabowo includes a golden collar inscribed with Sultan Abu Bakar’s name in Jawi script, along with a nine-pointed star representing leadership, unity, and statesmanship. These symbols reflect the honor’s deep historical and cultural roots.
Joining a list of celebrated figures such as Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien, President Soeharto, and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, President Prabowo’s award positions him among leaders recognized for advancing peace and collaboration in Southeast Asia.
This prestigious honor also illustrates the strong and evolving partnership between Indonesia and Malaysia, two nations bound by geography, heritage, and a shared commitment to regional progress.
